World Contraception Day takes place globally on 26th September. The aim is to create awareness about contraceptive methods available and to enable young people to make informed choices.

SOGP, NCMNH & AMAN organised an event on World Contraception Day on 24th September at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center.  Dr Shahida Zaidi, Prof. Razia Korejo, Dr Azra Ahsan, Prof Sadiah Ahsan Pal, Dr Samina Afzal, Dr Tazeen Abbas and Dr Humaira Mansoor spoke at the event.

Dr Azra spoke about the PPFP intervention implemented by NCMNH. She shared the Post pregnancy family planning intervention results, a very cost-effective strategy, which can reduce the population growth rate and increase the Contraceptive prevalence in Pakistan.

Dr Sadia presented evidence-based standards in Contraception which was implemented in Pakistan by SOGP in collaboration with WHO. Dr Samina Afzal, Country head of Willow’s international talked about the success of a project – Non–Scalpel Vasectomy (NSV) in Sindh.

Dr Shahida Zaidi, spoke about the project of post pregnancy family planning implemented in collaboration with Rotary club and AMAN. Dr Humaira introduced the Medical Eligibility Criteria wheel to the participants. Dr Tazeen thanked everyone at the end.
